Desert Daydream: A Kasbah Shoot for Salt-Water Sandals

The second part of this multi-location shoot for heritage footwear brand Salt-Water Sandals (see the first part here!) was set in a stunning Kasbah-inspired location.

The brand wanted to create three separate campaigns to appeal to different audiences across both age groups and geographies—from Southeast Asia to Europe. The Kasbah shoot was their more ‘fashion-led’ direction, designed to showcase the sandals in an exotic setting leading into the peak holiday season, giving the whole campaign a luxe destination edge.

Planning & Production

I managed the production end-to-end, planning every detail in advance. From sourcing the location and casting the models, to organising the team, leading the shoot, and overseeing post-production—it’s the kind of all-in-one job I love! Bringing a brand’s story to life visually, while also making sure each piece of content created serves a purpose—whether as campaign imagery, e-commerce assets, or social media content—is always at the heart of my process. I aim to create visuals that aren’t just scroll-stopping, they’re strategic.

The client had a clear and inspired vision of what they wanted, which helped refine what we needed to capture on the day—right down to details like the best time of day to shoot, analysing how the light would work in the space.

On Set

It was a VERY hot afternoon in the studio, but we managed to get through all of the outfit and sandal options with models Daria and Lauren.

As always, I shot with brand strategy and goals in mind—including how the imagery would be used for social and e-commerce. That meant capturing a mix of wide lifestyle frames and closer product details, showcasing the sandals in motion against the striking arches and sandy tones of the Kasbah backdrop.

Final Thoughts

Shoots like this are my favourite kind of project—where creative direction, strategy, and storytelling come together to build an entire brand campaign. Seeing it all unfold on set, and then come to life in the final edits, is always such a rewarding process.
